Same Direction 2.

Image selected for the BSA 112th Summer exhibition Private View flyer.

Maxine was born and raised in the Georgian City of Bath. A background in graphic design has helped her create strong bold images within her screenprints and monoprints. Her travels filter through into her work revealing a fascination with different cultures and their surrounding environments.

Her art has been greatly influenced by the urban landscape that surrounds us, what changes over time and the effects that are left behind. She also has a deep fascination for the natural landscape with its rugged coastlines and is constantly searching for ways to link these elements together.

The mainstay of her work captures speed, noise and the many different cultures that merge, creating colourful, vibrant and energetic emotions in her work. Maxine’s more recent one off pieces build from simple foundations into more complex layers - introducing different print disciplines, creating unique narratives within each unique piece. Focusing more on textures and mark making, venturing even more towards abstraction.

Maxine was delighted when she was recently invited to become an executive member of The Bath Society of Artists.
